UPCOMING WORKSHOPS
***ANNOUNCEMENT***
Mirage: The Philosophy of Apples
Physical Theatre Workshop
Thursdays 2-3 pm for 6 weeks 12 March - 16 April
Mycenae House, London SE3 7SE
Does an apple a day keep the doctor away? Would Isaac Newton still have discovered gravity, if he had been wearing a hat? What if he had sat under that apple tree in May, instead of September... and had been hit in the head by a spring blossom, and not a falling autumn apple!

Come bobbing for apples with physical theatre practitioner Steven Zilinskas and help to find the funniest way to fit all of the colorful apples into the fruit salad of life! Thursdays 2 – 3 pm for 6 weeks from 12 March – 16 April 2020 at Mycenae House 90 Mycenae Road, Blackheath, London, SE3 7SE

The workshops use physical theatre, script writing and comedy to explore identity, group cohesion and responsibility. Participants will play with fitting in and standing out, and influencing each other, inspired by Newton's fateful apple! The workshops are open to all ages.

The participants would have the opportunity to perform their work for each other and learn how professional actors/comedians/theatre writers create new shows. The Philosophy of Apples Workshops is part of Mycenae House Outreach Projects to help with isolation and loneliness and to develop skills, find support and capacity to enjoy life to the full

Mirage: The Philosophy of Apples
Physical theatre practitioner Steven Zilinskas, and choreographer Briar Adams, are teaming up to present Mirage: The Philosophy of Apples, a workshop series for young people.

Does an apple a day keep the doctor away? Would Isaac Newton still have discovered gravity, if he had been wearing a hat? What if he had sat under that apple tree in May, instead of September… and had been hit in the head by a spring blossom, and not a falling autumn apple!

Are you a good apple… or a bad one?!

We would like to invite you to come bobbing for apples with Steven and Briar, to help us find the funniest and most absurd aspects of trying to fit all the apples into the fruit salad of life.

These workshops engage to use creative techniques from physical theatre, script writing and comedy, to investigate themes like: individual identity and group cohesion; responsibility and predetermination; inspiration and being self-motivated… to help them figure out when to fit in, and when stand up for yourself, all inspired by Newton’s apple tree and the physics of fate.
